Shiatsu uses hand pressure and manipulative techniques which can help to adjust the body’s physical structure and its natural inner energies, “qi”, and so help with everyday problems and maintain good health.

Healing with hands (thumbs, fingers, and elbows) is the oldest form of medicine. Activating the acupressure points on the meridians (channels), deep breathing, and gentle stretching influences the energy flow within the body.

Shiatsu uses a variety of techniques for diagnosis such as examining the face, tongue and pulse; looking, listening, touching; and stretching of meridians.

It includes the philosophy of the “five elements”; relaxation techniques; and advice on diet and exercises.

Shiatsu is suitable for anybody who is interested in their own body, health and growth, and helps to encourage self-healing potential.
